Whether you're a fan of new year's resolutions or you make it an annual ritual to set goals for the new year, one thing is for sure—wanting to improve in areas of your life is part of being human.
At the end of every year, I take a few days and escape in Lake Tahoe. I rent a lakeside cabin, relax (finally!) and reflect on the past year's experiences and accomplishments. I consider everything that I've learned and that's when I create a vision for where I want to be in the next year, the next three years, ten years down the line, even.
Have you ever wanted to make a big life change, but you didn't go for it because you were afraid?
I can totally relate to this! As a female business owner it was a big and scary leap for me to start the Sherri Patterson Team (almost 20 years ago)! But it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I experienced this same fear as a single mother, when I bought my first home.
For many of us, we've lost touch with our dreams. We've either experienced so much disappointment over the years or we're just overwhelmed with the day-to-day demands of getting by that we can't even imagine anything different!
But here's the truth.
You have the power to make significant change in your life. That's the secret to really achieving your goals this year—the realization that YOU HAVE THE POWER to make significant change in your life. You.
One day, you'll wake up and realize there's not enough time left to chase the dreams you've been holding in your heart. You don't want that day to come. So...
What are your goals for the new year and for the rest of your life? I'm not talking about resolutions that will soon be forgotten by Valentines Day, but true goals that you absolutely WILL accomplish this year and the next?
I encourage you take some time (alone, with candles or in a clear space) and write down 5 things you want to achieve this year.
If one of the goals you write down every year is, “buy a home,” I want to help you achieve this dream.
I understand there are many fears or obstacles that prevent people from buying. For some of us it’s money, for others it’s not having the time, maybe you aren’t sure what you want.
Whatever is holding you back, you can overcome it! This year I took a Peak Producers training course and learned that many Fortune 500 companies and successful business owners choose one or two goals to focus on and break them down from there.
