Now Open! Check out These Sacramento Attractions During Coronavirus Pandemic

UPDATED: Effective July 13th, 2020: California is back on Lockdown


ALL counties must close indoor operations in these sectors: 


  • Dine-in restaurants
  • Wineries and tasting rooms
  • Movie theaters 
  • Family entertainment centers (for example: bowling alleys, miniature golf, batting cages and arcades) Zoos and museums
  • Cardrooms


Additionally, bars, brewpubs, breweries, and pubs must close all operations both indoor and outdoor statewide, unless they are offering sit-down, outdoor dine-in meals. Alcohol can only be sold in the same transaction as a meal. 


Counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for 3 consecutive days will be required to shut down the following industries or activities unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up. 

 

  • Fitness centers
  • Worship services
  • Protests
  • Offices for non-essential sectors
  • Personal care services, like nail salons, body waxing and tattoo parlors Hair salons and barbershops
  • Malls


The following counties have remained on the County Monitoring List for 3 consecutive days:


  • Sacramento
  • Placer
  • Yolo

With summer in full effect and Stage 3 of the Stay-At-Home Order rolls out, there’s now a growing list of businesses and indoor gathering places that recently got the go-ahead to reopen across California from the coronavirus shutdown. In addition to places of worship, indoor shopping malls, barbershops, and some dine-in restaurants, outdoor museums and art galleries have also re-opened. Here’s a list of recently re-opened businesses and attractions for a fun and safe summer. Please remember to stay safe, practice social distancing and wear a mask when having fun in public!

Folsom- El Dorado Hills Area   


  1. The Steve Miklos Aquatic Center is opened for scheduled lap swim, Mondays through Saturdays. Visit the website for details and additional programming announcements in the coming weeks. 


   2. Spray parks at LivermoreJohn Kemp, and Nisenan parks will open for the kids to splash and play. 


   3. The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will reopen Friday, July 17.  New temporary hours of operation are 9           a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Advance online ticket purchase is required. Visit the Zoo                     Sanctuary website for additional details. 


   4. Three-day Zoo Sanctuary Junior and Senior Zookeeper Camps will be offered July 21-23, July 28-30,         and August 4-6. You can register online for children ages eight through 14. 


   5. Movie Theaters, including Century FolsomPalladio 16 and the Luxe. (Opening in early July). 


   6. The Andy Morin Sports Complex remains open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for table               tennis, batting cages, and pickleball, but remember no group sports or sporting games are allowed. 


   7. Beals Point Campground is accepting reservations for small group/family camping. 


   8. Park entrances at Folsom Lake SRA are open to vehicular traffic at Granite Bay, Rattlesnake Bar and             Beals Point in Placer County; Darrington Trailhead, Skunk Hollow, Salmon Falls, Old Salmon Falls,                   Brown’s Ravine including Folsom Lake Marina, Peninsula and Mormon Island in El Dorado County;                 Folsom Point, Negro Bar, Willow Creek, Nimbus Flat, Park Shore, Nimbus Dam Overlook and Shadow             Glen in Sacramento County. The day-use facilities, restrooms and boat launching facilities at these                 locations are open.


   9. El Dorado Hills Community Services recently opened its skate park, playgrounds, Community Dog Park, basketball, bocce, tennis, and volleyball courts. Read its Reopening FAQs here


 10. Most restaurants at the El Dorado Hills Town Center are open for dine-in, including Aji, C. Knight Steakhouse, Milestone, and many more. 


Sacramento/Elk Grove

  1. The Aerospace Museum of California at McClellan reopened its outdoor museum space back in April and was the first outdoor museum space in the Sacramento area to do so, at least among those requiring paid admission. 
  2. Movie Theaters, including Cinemark’s Century complexes at DOCOLaguna in Elk Grove , Arden, and Greenback
  3. Reserve your tickets in advance to the Sacramento Zoo, which recently re-opened last month. Be sure to stop by the newly opened alligators exhibit! 
  4. Tahoe Park Dinner to Go by SactoMo Food Trucks 
  5. Join the community on Fridays in Tahoe Park for "Dinners To-Go" from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. for a delicious range of gourmet food trucks! Check out SactoMo’s Facebook for a complete list of food truck events in the Sacramento area. You can order online for a complete contact-less dinner experience. 
  6. For those of us who just couldn’t wait to get our hands on those giant smoked turkey legs and kettle corn, there will be a California State Fair Food Festival To-Go on July 3rd, 2020 where you can pre-order and pick up fair food at the fairgrounds.
  7. Some shops and restaurants at DOCO Downtown Commons, including Macy’s and Popbar.


Roseville/Rocklin/Granite Bay


  1. To promote social distancing, Golfland/Sunsplash has date specific tickets to control attendance. Miniature golf, laser tag, the arcade, and water slides are open with reservations. 
  2.  Quarry Park Adventures is perfect for anyone looking for summer thrills. You can reserve your tickets online for ziplining, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and much more. 
  3.  Movie Theaters, including Century Roseville and Blue Oaks in Rocklin are opening early July. 
  4.  Most shops and restaurants are open at the Westfield Galleria in Roseville.
