We’ve featured a list of the top restaurants, bakeries, and eateries across the Sacramento Valley—as well as a few new additions to the cuisine scene here in town. Read the recommendations below and let us know if your go-to made the list!

 

1.  West Coast Taco Bar (8791 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA & Trucks) – As one of Yelp’s Top 100 for 2023, this taco truck offers a rotating menu that may be small in size, but packs quite the punch. Locals claim this is one of the best stops for tacos in the Sacramento area.

2.  The Kitchen (2225 Hurley Way, Sacramento, CA) – Coming in at #76 on Yelp’s Top 100 for 2023, The Kitchen Restaurant is a Michelin-starred establishment that focuses on the art behind cuisine. Here, guests are encouraged to chat with the chefs and not only enjoy their meals, but the experience as well.



3.  Timmy’s Brown Bag (451 Main Street, Placerville, CA) – And finally—our last restaurant on Yelp’s Top 100 for 2023 list, Timmy’s Brown Bag offers a menu rife with deluxe sandwiches and creative twists on classic combinations. An ultimate feel-good comfort food stop.


4.  Bodega Kitchen and Cocktails (6401 Riverside Blvd. Sacramento, CA) – Are you up for some Puerto Rican classics? Bodega boasts some of Sacramento’s top tang and flagrantly flavorful Caribbean cuisine.

5.  Moonbelly (6511 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA) – A new edition to East Sacramento, this popular bakery offers a delicate array of sourdough and croissant baked goods.


6.  Kru Sushi (3135 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA)- Splurge on some of Sacramento’s most artfully executed and flavorful Japanese food at this elegant East Sacramento restaurant. Here, you’ll find delicately crafted nigiri and sashimi, plus small plates such as tea-smoked duck kushiyaki and grilled corn with miso butter.


7.  Kodaiko Ramen Bar (718 K St, Sacramento, CA)– Are you on the hunt for the ultimate ramen bar? Well, Kodaiko serves one of the city’s best bowls of ramen on K Street. Filled to the brim with house-made broth and three-day pork paitan, we promise you won’t be disappointed.



8.  Beast & Bounty (1701 R St, Sacramento, CA)– This Instagram-worthy eatery is a Michelin-recognized dream for foodies. While we’d happily order their savory pizzas and flavorful sandwiches—Beast & Bounty’s brunch is the real talk of the town.

9.  Frank Fat’s (806 L St, Sacramento, CA) – A truly fantastic menu that bridges the gap between Chinese favorites and American classics, Frank Fat’s is a family-run business that serves the best New York steak around.


10.  Binchoyaki Izakaya Dining (2226 10th St, Sacramento, CA) – Located in southern downtown that continues to shed its Japantown roots, Binchoyaki introduces rich comfort foods such as bacon fried rice, delectable bowls of ramen, and skewers grilled over white-hot Japanese charcoal.
