But… why would you want to move to the Sacramento area in the first place? Here are the top 10 reasons!

SACRAMENTO IS ONE OF THE MOST AFFORDABLE METRO AREAS TO LIVE IN CALIFORNIA

Although property value is increasing steadily each year (the median home value was $485,000 at the time of publishing), it’s still very affordable as compared to homes in Southern California. The cost of living is 21% higher than the nation, but Los Angeles is 46% higher than Sacramento, to put everything into perspective.

WE HAVE TOP-RATED SCHOOLS

In addition to California State University, Sacramento, known to be the 11th eldest higher education institution in Cal State University system, we also have great elementary, middle, and high schools. For families with young children, be happy to know that the school system in Sacramento is among the best. Some of the best public and private schools in Sacramento include West Campus High School, Granite Bay High, Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, Ralph Waldo Emerson Junior High, and Pheobe A. Hearst Middle School, but if you want more details on these schools, check out our guide.

WE HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF LAKES, RIVERS, HIKING TRAILS AND OUTDOOR ATTRACTIONS

Sacramento is surrounded by picturesque mountains and friendly neighbors that will make your move to the area worth it. Some of our favorite lakes in the area are Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma, while the American River is one that features never-ending trails and plenty to do. Water-rafting, anyone?

OUR JOB MARKET IS LEGIT

If you are looking for a job when moving to Sacramento, be happy to know that you will not be looking for long. In 2022 alone, total jobs in the area have increased by 6.6%. There are now a total of 1,060,700 jobs available in the city and surrounding counties. Nowadays Sacramento has a variety of industries that run the economy and it is this job diversity that has made it into such a successful area.

THE WEATHER IS GREAT

Beloved for its warm and temperate climate, Sacramento has hot and dry summers alongside wet and mild winters. With an average annual temperature of 62 degrees (which most consider perfect around here), the temperatures remain moderate all year long. While the summers may get blistering hot and reach high temperatures up to 100 degrees, if you love dry heat and a lack of humidity then Sacramento is the perfect place for you.
