6 Ways to Give Back to the Sacramento Community

November is the season of giving, and the Sherri Patterson Team firmly believes in supporting the Greater Sacramento Area. Our city thrives when we come together to support one another, so we want to help you spread the love! Here are 6 simple ideas to get you started.

1. Participate in Food & Clothing Drives

By contributing to food and clothing drives, we can provide materials for basic needs to those who are struggling in our community. Donations go a long way in alleviating hunger and providing warm clothing during the colder months.

Tip: You can join us in supporting the Twin Lakes Food Bank by dropping donations off at the following locations by November 15th!

  • The Shop: 8701 Auburn Folsom Rd, Granite Bay, CA
  • Our Office: 50 Iron Point Circle, Suite #140 Folsom, CA

The Central Downtown Food Basket is also hosting an event for Giving Tuesday (November 28th). Check out their website to learn more about ways you can contribute.

2. Give Your Time to Neighbors or Local Church Organizations

Offer your time and assistance to neighbors or local church organizations. Whether it's helping with chores, running errands, or providing companionship, your acts of kindness can greatly impact the lives of those around you and strengthen the fabric of our community.

3. Donate Blood

The American Red Cross is currently facing a severe blood shortage, making blood donations a critical way to give back. Your blood provides a vital resource for those in need of medical treatment, emergencies, and surgeries. It's a simple yet incredibly impactful way to make a difference in our community.

4. Volunteer at an Animal Shelter

Extend a helping hand to our furry friends by volunteering at an animal shelter. RedRover is a local shelter that can always use assistance from animal-lovers. Whether it's fostering, walking, or assisting with daily tasks, your efforts are always appreciated.

5. Send Care Packages to U.S. Troops Abroad

Move America Forward is a Sacramento-based organization where you can send care packages to troops stationed overseas. These packages provide comfort and a reminder of home to those serving our country. Expressing gratitude and offering a touch of comfort can make a world of difference to our brave service members.

Here’s how Move America Forward made a difference on 9/11 this year.

6. Support Urban Forestry

Contribute to Sacramento’s urban forestry efforts through organizations like California ReLeaf and Sacramento Tree Foundation. By supporting tree planting and conservation initiatives, you can help enhance the environment, improve air quality, and promote a greener, healthier community for all.

There are countless ways to give back to the community, so make sure to research any other Sacramento organizations that speak to you. Our team will always encourage curious minds and giving hearts when it comes to supporting our community.

We’re more than just your real estate team—we’re your connection to all things Sacramento!
